5. Hand painting under the glaze

Underglaze painting and overglaze painting are two very different processes. Underglaze-decorated porcelain is hand painted after it has been fired for the first time. The items are glazed and brightened after they have been painted. Overglaze painting is done, as the name suggests, after the porcelain object has been glazed and fired for the second time. Following series/product range are painted before glazing and the second firing.
