Designs from Blue Flower
The designs for the Royal Copenhagen hearts include two from the Blue Flower service, which is decorated on the basis of a selection of 16 different flower images. Marguerite and Nightshade have been chosen for the Annual Hearts. The former sits in the middle of the heart itself, while Nightshade twines across the surface of the porcelain.
Designs from the Blue Fluted service
The inspiration for the crimson decorations comes from the Blue Fluted service, the first to be made by Royal Copenhagen and the most popular. One heart has been decorated with the palmette design, which links the flowers together in the Blue Fluted pattern. The other has been decorated with a rose, with parts of the palmette twisting over the sides of the heart.
