HAV

Plate 17 cm

HAV is a young collection with historical references to the dinnerware, Seagull, from 1895. Every piece is decorated with fine fish scales, and across the glossy porcelain oceanic shades appear in smooth transitions. The colour chart is raw and realistic – a reflection of the ocean all days of the year. On the new plate each nuance stand out on the open surface: Steel gray Fall, white Winter, delicate Spring, and bright, blue Summer. The new plate is the smallest in the collection and is suitable for small servings and desserts. HAV is a contemporary take on the history of Royal Copenhagen but also reaches towards the future with new aesthetics and a new take on classic tableware. The collection is made up of multifunctional pieces spray painted by hand in colour tones of oceanic mist at the Danish shores. The pieces are touched by beautiful fish scales, gently made by hand.

The Three Waves
Proposed as The Royal Danish Porcelain Factory trademark in 1775 by Queen dowager Juliane Marie, every piece of Royal Copenhagen porcelain is instantly recognised by the three blue waves on its underside symbolising the Sound, the Great Belt and the Little Belt - the three main waterways of Denmark.

The Signature
The delicate decoration of the hand painted porcelain is comparable to the painter own signature and like any other piece of art, Royal Copenhagen skilled blue painters leave their signatureon the underside of every piece of porcelain.
