Christmas Shaped By Hand

In celebration of Royal Copenhagen’s 250th anniversary, this year’s Christmas Tables pay tribute to the craftsmanship that unites tradition and renewal. In collaboration with four artists, each working with a distinct material, Christmas traditions are reinterpreted through four sensory and atmospheric installations.

The Art of Setting a Table

For the 62nd year, Royal Copenhagen opens the doors to its traditional Christmas exhibition. This year, the exhibition presents a compelling combination of table settings and artistic installations under the theme A Christmas of Craftsmanship. Looking both back and ahead, the exhibition adds new chapters to the story of Christmas and the legacy of the porcelain factory.

A Tribute to the Feminine

Royal Copenhagen has invited four remarkable female artisans to create this year’s Christmas tables. Each brings a personal perspective on the season and the traditions they hold dear. Their contributions are not only unique expressions of Christmas, they also serve as a tribute to femininity and to Queen Juliane Marie, who played a key role in founding Royal Copenhagen 250 years ago.

Four Artists, Four Materials

This year, the spirit of the season is interpreted by four creatives, each with their own artistic language: glass artist Helle Mardahl, jewellery artist Olga Bonne, paper artist Amanda Betz, and textile sculptor Martine Myrup. Through their chosen materials, they have created four personal installations where sensibility, tradition and imagination come together.
