Plate 22 cm

The border of the HAV 22 cm Plate is encircled by a sophisticated, spray-painted decoration in a dreamy play of oceanic colours. The oceanic hues float across subtle fish scales, which are carved into the porcelain, graciously framing the served food and bringing an organic, living tactility to any dining occasion. The special depth of the tactile fish scale decoration clearly communicates the function and ornamental purpose of the smaller HAV plate. HAV is a contemporary take on the history of Royal Copenhagen but also reaches towards the future with new aesthetics and a new take on classic tableware. The collection is made up of multifunctional pieces spray painted by hand in colour tones of oceanic mist at the Danish shores. The pieces are touched by beautiful fish scales, gently made by hand.

The Three Waves
Proposed as The Royal Danish Porcelain Factory trademark in 1775 by Queen dowager Juliane Marie, every piece of Royal Copenhagen porcelain is instantly recognised by the three blue waves on its underside symbolising the Sound, the Great Belt and the Little Belt - the three main waterways of Denmark.

The Signature
The delicate decoration of the hand painted porcelain is comparable to the painter own signature and like any other piece of art, Royal Copenhagen skilled blue painters leave their signatureon the underside of every piece of porcelain.
