Blue Fluted Mega – A modern classic
In spite of its obvious modernity, Blue Fluted Mega is founded in the legacy of Royal Copenhagen. In Blue Fluted Mega, the well-known floral pattern of Blue Fluted Plain is reinterpreted and charmingly reimagined in the unique, hand-painted pattern of every piece of porcelain.
A reimagined classic
When Karen Kjældgård-Larsen created Blue Fluted Mega for Royal Copenhagen in 2000, it was a fresh take on one of Royal Copenhagen’s most classic patterns: Blue Fluted Plain. With its modern aesthetic, which combines historic authenticity and creative innovation, Blue Fluted Mega quickly became a favoured new classic. Karen Kjældgård-Larsen found inspiration for the pattern in the historic Blue Fluted Plain; a pattern known and loved around the world.
Black Fluted Mega
In Blue Fluted Mega, the classic pattern of Blue Fluted Plain is magnified and divided into decorations; an extraordinary expression that connects the new and the well-known. In 2006, Black Fluted Mega was created as a black and white example of how far you can go in interpreting a classic without losing its essence. Black Fluted Mega is sophisticated, sharp and contemporary – a dinner service that pays tribute to the modern with a dramatic contrast.
Both Blue Fluted Mega and Black Fluted Mega are dinner services that bring new perspectives to tradition and which highlight how new Royal Copenhagen classics unite history and innovation in perfect harmony.
