Royal Copenhagen 2007 Collectibles
The Royal Copenhagen Collectible Collection 2007 consists of following 8 series:
The Christmas Plate series by Sven Vestergaard
The 2007 Christmas Plate invites us into a snow-covered Nyhavn, where the channel is frozen around three lonely boats. Nine houses on the sunny side of the channel illustrate the varied architecture of the quarter. The third house from the right was home to Hans Christian Andersen on a number of occasions.
Besides the Christmas Plate this series includes several products with Nyhavn as motif: the bell, cup and saucer, ornament, drop and bonbonniere. This year’s plaquette features “The Equestrian Statue in the Courtyard of Amalienborg Palace”.
This year’s figurines are two children, Susan and Oscar, both of whom are wearing sailor suits. Susan is dancing with delight, coyly holding her skirt. Oscar is merrily playing his accordion. This year’s figurine ornament is a blue anchor in a lifebelt.
The Centennial Collection
Royal Copenhagen’s Christmas Plate will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2008. Five carefully selected plates and plaquettes from the period 1908 to 2008 are therefore being issued from 2004 onwards. The 2007 edition was originally issued in 1988 and shows the view from the famous Round Tower over several of Copenhagen’s beautiful spires.
The Children’s Christmas series by Ingrid Jensen
Royal Copenhagen’s annual “Children’s Christmas” series has been issued since 1998 in the characteristic manner of Ingrid Jensen. This year’s motif is called “Christmas Night in Bethlehem”.
The Annual Santa Collection by Sven Vestergaard
This is a series from Royal Copenhagen in which we follow Santa on his rounds on a busy Christmas night. The 2007 figurine is the seventh in the series and shows Santa resting before he delivers Christmas presents to all the children with his reindeer Rudolf.
The Annual Mug Collection by Hans Voigt Steffensen
The series of Annual Mugs from Royal Copenhagen is a classic and this year’s motif is the 41st in the series of usable mugs decorated by well-known Danish artists. Painter Hans Voigt Steffensen has taken his inspiration from the world of ballet.
The Winter Plate Series by Henny Iversen
The little family of snowmen is made up of the father, Max, the mother, Sophie, and their small son, Arthur. Mother Sophie has brought out the book of fairy tales and father Max is listening to her read. Baby Arthur sits in the laundry basket and listens attentively to his mother’s voice.
The Annual Christmas Tree Collection by Sven Vestergaard
The “Annual Christmas Tree” is a new series from Royal Copenhagen for 2007. The 2007 Christmas Tree is decorated with Danish flags, bows, presents and candles. The year is engraved on the pot.
The Hearts of Christmas Plate Series
Royal Copenhagen launched a colorful new series of plates in 2006. The series is called “Hearts of Christmas” and the second plate in the series shows the children and Santa surrounded by white doves and their heart-shaped birdhouse.
