Violise Lunn (1969), Fashion Designer
Violise Lunn originally trained as a fashion designer at the Danish Design School. She has worked in a number of different materials, including fur, paper and textiles. She also designs wedding dresses in a very feminine and romantic style at her boutique in the centre of Copenhagen.
Christmas Collection 2006 was the first time that Violise has worked in porcelain and she has managed to push the boundaries of the material significantly, with paper and small pieces of lace also forming part of the collection. The cornets form a vital element in Violise’s collection. Cornets have always been a typical Danish decoration, as they are purpose built to hold sweets, chocolates and Christmas cookies, and the mere sight of them offers the sweet promise of mouth-watering goodies. With Violise’s cornets the mood is created by the colour scale. The black and gold ones make a modern impression that is trendy yet feminine, red and gold have a classic, nostalgic feel, and the all gold ones are both romantic and stylish to look at. The collection also includes small bowls, which can be used for either chocolates or tealights. They are paper thin and translucent, giving them a handmade, unique look.
