Else and Jens
Else is one of the most classic and beloved of Royal Copenhagen’s figurines. According to Ingeborg Plockross-Irminger, who created Else in 1904, Else is four years old. She is visiting the town hall square in Copenhagen together with her mother in order to feed the pigeons with the crumbs that she is carrying in her little shoulder bag.
Else’s big brother goes by the name of Jens and is a cheerful Danish lad with sandy hair and freckles.
The figurines in the series, depicts Jens looking forward to his first day at school and standing expectantly with his sailor hat in his hand and his packed satchel beside him.
When not busy with his homework, Jens loves playing with Felix the cat.
