Polar Bear Sitting 12 cm

Sitting

Artist Jens Peter Dahl-Jensen originally created the sitting polar bear for Bing & Grøndahl in 1906 and it has now been rediscovered from the archives. The polar bear seems to be patiently observing something in the distance while it sits cuddled up on the ice. Its curious expression is brought to life by the talented Royal Copenhagen painters.

The Three Waves
Proposed as The Royal Danish Porcelain Factory trademark in 1775 by Queen dowager Juliane Marie, every piece of Royal Copenhagen porcelain is instantly recognised by the three blue waves on its underside symbolising the Sound, the Great Belt and the Little Belt - the three main waterways of Denmark.
