Lotte Tegner Freddie - Grandmother’s Christmas

”Traditions are very important because they bring people together, and you have a responsibility to carry on these traditions, creating a beautiful space for Christmas”, says Lotte Tegner Freddie, who is very fond of the holiday season. She remembers the grand Christmas festivities of her childhood at her grandparent’s home with great admiration. “My grandmother was a dancer at the Royal Danish Ballet and had a knack for the extravagant and wonderous, which was also telling of their home”.

A COMPLETE FLORA DANICA DINNERWARE

The childhood Christmas of Lotte Tegner Freddie was filled with magic, surprises and pomp and circumstance. Her grandparents were the lucky owners of a complete Flora Danica dinnerware for 24 people, and the precious porcelain was staged to perfection on Christmas Eve, where the table remained behind closed doors until the grand reveal at dinnertime.

A RECREATION OF HER CHILDHOOD'S CHRISTMAS

As a tribute to her grandmother and an expression of her own joy of hosting and of setting a festive table, Lotte Tegner Freddie recreates the holiday universe of her childhood in her Christmas Table. The table is set with Flora Danica, including a bowl for the classic Danish rice pudding. Golden cutlery, crystal glasses, burgundy port glasses, and a symphony of red and pink flowers complete the grand setting.
