Bespoke | made to order

In the current Bespoke range, it is possible to have your name, initials, year, or date painted on cups from five different Royal Copenhagen collections: Blue Fluted Plain, Princess, White Fluted, Coral Lace, and our Blue Collectibles thermal mugs. The selection of cups varies in price and decoration, offering several choices. Royal Copenhagen does not rule out the possibility of adding more products and shapes to the Bespoke range at a later time, but it is not possible at the moment.

Yes, they can. The painting of the name, initials or dates is done on top of the existing glaze on the cup, and it is then fired in the oven again, causing the name or initials to "sink" into the glaze. Bespoke cups are fired in the oven three times before the final product is ready. Therefore, Bespoke cups go through more manual processes than regular products, which also contributes to the higher price level.
Yes, Bespoke cups have the same breakage warranty as other Royal Copenhagen first grade products. You simply need to register your Bespoke cup on our website, https://www.royalcopenhagen.com/en-at/breakage-warranty, within 90 days of the purchase date, and your cup is covered by a 24-month breakage warranty.
It can take up to 30 days.

No, it is not possible to have your name or initials painted on a Royal Copenhagen cup that you have purchased previously and that comes from a different collection than the ones currently offered in Bespoke. Royal Copenhagen has selected specific types of cups for Bespoke - made to order. They have been chosen to provide consumers with a variety in both shape and decoration, as well as price. At the same time, Royal Copenhagen has chosen to limit the options to ensure the production process, quality control, and delivery of Bespoke.

No, the hand-painted first names or initials on the Bespoke made-to-order cups are created with inspiration from the Old English typeface, which resembles the handwriting found on any unique Flora Danica piece. Just like other hand-painted pieces of porcelain from Royal Copenhagen, unique characteristics depend on the individual painter, so the handwriting on Bespoke is also unique and reflects the painter behind it. This means that all painted names or initials are unique.
In principle, it is a permanent option, but if demand is high, there may be limited availability for shorter or longer periods.
We hope to be able to keep up with demand, but if demand is high, we may run out of selected products.
The decoration of the pattern is painted in underglaze, and the Bespoke decoration is painted in overglaze later in the process. There will always be a difference in the nuance of the color between the different painting techniques.

The price for painting is the same whether you choose initials or a first name. This means that a name with 3 letters, such as 'Jon,' costs the same as a name with 11 letters, such as "Christopher," as we do not want to discriminate on price based on customers' names. Additionally, the extra firing, which Bespoke requires, is the same regardless of the length of the name.
No, it is possible to choose a single date/year or name/initial + date/year.
You can only buy our Bespoke collection online at Royalcopenhagen.com
The combination of a name, initial, and year/date is an additional option and requires extra work for the painter. Therefore, we have added an additional fee of 200 DKK for the second painting.
The name/initial will be hand-painted on one inner side of the cup, and on the opposite side, the year/date will be painted.
Just like with all our other products covered by the breakage warranty, you need to register the purchase on https://www.royalcopenhagen.com/en-at/breakage-warranty, take a picture of the receipt, and forward the gift to the recipient by entering their email address.
